Recommendations to a tenant
The two questions that new tenants almost invariably ask us before arrival are:
Is my room furnished? Do I have to bring my own cooking and eating utensils?
Rooms in our renovated hostels are equipped with all basic furniture items – each resident has his or her own bed, desk, chair and shelves. Kitchens are equipped with a cooker, refrigerator, running water and basic kitchen furniture. The rest – curtains, carpets, blankets, pillows, cleaning equipment, dishes, water boilers, toasters, etc. – is up to the resident. Before you buy anything major, however, it may be sensible first to meet with your roommates/flatmates and see what is there already, decide how you’re going to use it, and only then, if and as you agree, start purchasing new items.
In order to live in a residence hall without any worries until the end of your studies, you should basically follow three basic rules:
- The due date for the rent invoice is the 20th date of every month – invoices can be paid by bank transfer or by direct debit through the bank or in cash at the office of the Student Village at Narva mnt 25.
- The time of retiring is 23.00 – after that loud music is not allowed and the guests should have left.
- Good order in the rooms – no smoking is allowed indoors (except in the smoking rooms) in the residence hall, no consumption of alcohol or narcotic drugs. The tenants themselves have to clean the area inside the door of the apartment – the rooms, kitchen, toilet and shower room.
